V5.12 omfatter både feilrettinger og flere nye funksjoner, justerte skjermbilder mm.

Oppgradering kan gjøres automatisk over Internett via Hjelpmenyen i TMG eller manuelt ved å laste ned oppgraderingsfila tmg512update.exe (ca 3Mb) fra TMGs side http://www.whollygenes.com/upgrade.htm eller ved å laste ned fullversjonen (ca 34Mb).

This update includes a variety of fixes and exciting new features, including:
· NEW easier tag entry screens without tabs. The older tabbed version is still available as an option (Preferences > Program Options > Data Entry).
· NEW support for window background and list colors (Preferences > Program Options > Colors).
· NEW Backup Wizard with options to backup layouts, accents, report definitions, and other administrative files.
· NEW Restore Wizard allows you to select the type(s) of files to restore.
· NEW Custom Toolbar option to backup with one click using a saved backup configuration.
· NEW support for translating tag type labels and abbreviations.
· NEW option to support multiple monitors (Preferences > Program Options > Other). This option is off by default.
· NEW option on Report Definition Screen for charts to "Use the Current Focus Person."
· NEW option on the Window menu to center the current window.
· NEW support for saving/loading any number of custom toolbars. Only one custom toolbar can be active at a time (in addition to standard toolbars) but each custom layout can use a different custom toolbar.
· NEW HTML header, footer, and body fields now support unlimited text by reference to an external text file ("!c:\myheader.txt"). F7 triggers the text editor with the contents of that file.
· NEW option to turn off drag-and-drop support on the Project Explorer (Preferences > Program Options > Project Explorer).
· NEW option to control the display of currency on the Task Entry screen (Preferences > Current Project Options > Other). The default for a new project is drawn from the Control Panel > Regional Settings.
· NEW support for a [Y] variable to return the year of an event or name.
Note, a year is only returned in the case of exact, before, after, circa, and say dates.
Between, Either/Or, From/To, and irregular dates return "an unknown year".
The qualifier is NOT returned and no preposition is added.
e.g., "[P] appeared in the census of [Y]...")
· NEW - the Task Edited date is now shown on the Research Log.
· NEW option to double-click on a name in the Focus Group to change the focus.
· NEW support for the Windows Application key to access the right-click menu throughout the program.
· Fixed problem selecting multiple witnesses with the Picklist.
· Fixed some problems with the Repeat feature.
· Fixed the Master Source List More/Less button.
· Fixed the focus on the Research Log after editing a task.
· Fixed isolated issues in direct imports from Family Tree Maker, PAF, Generations, Legacy, Ultimate Family Tree, and GEDCOM.
· Fixed the optional warning when a tag is saved without sureties.
· Fixed "One file per progenitor" and "One file per generation" options for output of Journal report to a word processor.
· Fixed a variety of more obscure bugs.
· Includes more complete translations in Danish, Dutch, German, and Norwegian (two dialects).
· Includes updated help files.
